Based off of the original recording from an old Verizon cell-phone, Suddenly, I'm Fine (aka What I Like) evokes a sense of "Saudade" – a deep emotional state of nostalgic/melancholic longing for an absent something or someone that one loves.

"Although it relates to feelings of melancholy and fond memories of things/people/days gone by, it can be a rush of sadness coupled with a paradoxical joy derived from acceptance of fate and the hope of recovering what is lost by something that will fill in the void or provide consolation."

'Saudade was once described as "the love that remains" after someone is gone.'

What I like
you make me feel.
And suddenly, I'm fine.
At times I think
this can't be real.
I get it wrong all the time.

And then I get by
and now I –
I can show you the ropes.
On our own.

All the time
you're in my head.
You keep me up all night.
In my veins.
You bleed me dead.
It's in my blood.

Then I get by
and now I –
I can show you the ropes.
On our own.
