In 2014 I released my first album under the name verydeadly at the age of sixteen. I used to make all these instrumental albums with my mother's MacBook before I learned to sing. I remember sitting in our car alone at my father's church during service – refusing to go inside because I had recently become an atheist – and deciding that I would try to become a singer. Then, belting out squeaky notes, I immediately realized that my voice cracked like Thom Yorke; something I leaned into very heavily at the time.
